VeroVox is a business softphone for Windows, macOS and Linux, developed in-house by LevelUP. BLF keys, call park, queues, transfers and headset control work just like a desk phone, calls can be transcribed by AI, and setup can be fully automatic.
Reception desks, accounts teams and call centres get the features they rely on, in a fast native app.
Programmable function keys laid out like the line keys on a desk phone. Live busy lamps, directed pickup, call park, queue login/logout, speed dials and more.
VeroVox speaks the Yealink provisioning format almost every PBX supports, loading accounts, keys, voicemail, phonebooks and QoS settings automatically. Hit your PBX's re-provision button and changes land instantly. No Yealink hardware needed.
Switch on Transcribe for a single call or every call. When you hang up, the transcript is attached in Recents with each line labelled You or the caller, and it's searchable. Works with OpenAI, Groq, Deepgram, AssemblyAI or your own Whisper server.
On Windows, the hook switch, mute and lights work on Jabra, Poly, EPOS, Yealink and Logitech USB headsets. Bluetooth call buttons work on every platform.
A small window shows who's calling, matched to your contacts and phonebooks, with Answer and Decline buttons. It never takes focus from what you're typing.
Blind and attended transfer, hold, and call waiting. Answer a second call and the first goes on hold automatically.
Record calls manually or automatically to stereo WAV, with you on one channel and the caller on the other. Recordings and transcripts open straight from Recents.
Personal contacts with favourites, plus company phonebooks from your PBX, each with its own filter. Caller names resolve from both automatically.
SIP instant messaging with delivery status, a message-waiting indicator and one-click voicemail access. Missed calls show as badges.
Voice and signalling packets carry standard QoS (DSCP) markings, so your network can put calls ahead of downloads. On Windows, one click sets up the required QoS policy.
Dial, search contacts or press a key from the command palette (Ctrl/⌘+K). Register VeroVox as your tel: handler for click-to-call.
The full user guide lives inside the app. Press F1 to search it, or click the ? next to a setting to jump straight to its explanation.
Busy lamps update live from your PBX, so you know who's free before you transfer. If a colleague's phone is ringing, press their key to pick up the call.
Copy the MAC address. VeroVox generates its own MAC address, designed so it can never clash with real hardware.
Add it to your PBX as a Yealink T48S. Your PBX's built-in Yealink template does the rest, even if your desk phones are another brand.
Enter the config server URL. VeroVox loads its accounts, keys, voicemail numbers, phonebooks and QoS settings, then checks for changes on a schedule.
VeroVox uses the Yealink provisioning format because almost every PBX already supports it, whatever brand of desk phone you run. There are no new templates to write. Change a key or add a phonebook on the server, press your PBX's re-provision button, and VeroVox picks it up straight away.
The free edition covers everyday calling. Pro adds what busy desks and managed rollouts need.
For individuals and simple setups.
Everything in Free, plus:
Each Pro licence covers one device and is activated offline from Settings → Licence. If a licence lapses, nothing is deleted: VeroVox reverts to the free edition.
Native installers for Windows, macOS and Linux.
Download and run the installer. On first launch, VeroVox opens the Accounts page.
Enter your extension, password and domain, or point VeroVox at your provisioning server and let it configure itself. The status dot turns green once you're registered.
Check your headset with the built-in microphone test, then type a number and press Enter.
Any standard SIP PBX or VoIP provider, over UDP, TCP or TLS. That includes LevelUP's hosted phone platform, FreePBX, 3CX, FusionPBX, VitalPBX and other Asterisk- or FreeSWITCH-based systems. BLF lamps need a PBX that publishes extension status, which most do.
No. VeroVox registers to any SIP account. If you're on LevelUP Voice, we can provision VeroVox for your whole team so staff never have to type in a password.
Yes, whatever brand your desk phone is. Ring your extension on both, or give VeroVox its own extension. If you provision it, VeroVox gets its own function keys from your PBX.
Any headset works for audio, and a headset is recommended for every call. On Windows, USB headsets and dongles from Jabra, Poly/Plantronics, EPOS/Sennheiser, Yealink and Logitech also get hook-switch answering, mute and lights. Bluetooth headsets can answer and hang up with their call button on Windows, macOS and Linux.
Turn on Transcribe during a call, or set it for every call. When the call ends, VeroVox sends each side of the conversation to the speech-to-text provider you choose (OpenAI, Groq, Deepgram, AssemblyAI or your own Whisper-compatible server), then attaches the transcript to the call in Recents with every line labelled. You use your own provider account, and the temporary audio is deleted once the transcript is saved. As with recording, let callers know when calls are transcribed. Transcription is part of VeroVox Pro.
Free gives you one account and basic function keys with manual setup. Pro adds multiple accounts, BLF, park and queue keys, provisioning and phonebooks, call recording, AI transcription and USB headset control. Each Pro licence covers one device.
About 90 kbps in each direction, which is comfortable on any business NBN service or a tethered hotspot. VeroVox also tags its traffic with QoS markings, so a managed network can keep calls clear while others are busy downloading.
